Weston Whippets

Weston Whippets — a run club in Weston-super-Mare. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: road running, trail running. RunAndTalk club (mental-health friendly).

Adult sessions run on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and must be booked through the club's Spond system. Session types include a Monday 5k where runners set their own pace (suitable for those returning from injury or building confidence), Monday technical sessions on an 8-week rota with intervals, tempo, hill work and heart rate runs, Tuesday off-road trail runs under 10k, a Thursday social 5k road run meeting at four different pubs on rota with drinks afterwards, Saturday long road runs of 5 miles and over (including parkrun once every 8 weeks, suited to those who can run over 10k), and Sunday long trail runs over 10k with a shorter option of around 5k. Most sessions require being able to run 5k comfortably. Couch to 5K courses led by experienced coaches are available for new runners, and a walking group runs alongside the Thursday 5k. Locations vary on rota across Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset. The club is affiliated to England Athletics and insured through the Association of Running Clubs.
