Run club in Clevedon
North Somerset Athletic Club is an England Athletics affiliated athletics club established in 2004, covering track and field, cross-country and road running for athletes aged 8 and over. Training takes place in Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare, and the club competes at open and league meetings as well as county, regional and national championships. The endurance group holds weekly running sessions aimed at intermediate to elite athletes.
Adult endurance running sessions run three times a week: Tuesday evenings at QEH Sports Ground, Failand (18:15โ19:30), Thursday evenings on Clevedon sea front meeting at the Salthouse car park (18:15โ19:15), and Saturday mornings at Whitehall Athletics Track (10:30โ12:00). The Tuesday and Saturday sessions provide a base level of endurance training as recommended by England Athletics and are described as intermediate to elite level; the Thursday session is invite only, for year 8 and above, and is led by Julian Emery with support from Russ Forsbrook and Graham Drew. Endurance work includes interval training for 800m and longer races, plus cross-country in the Gwent League.
