Clevedon Athletic Club is a running club on the North Somerset coast, about 12 miles from Bristol, formed in 1977. It is open to runners of all abilities, from beginners and returners to those aiming at target races, with coached sessions twice a week. Training uses a mix of road, off-road, hill and track running, and members take part in road relays, cross country leagues and individual races.
Club training nights are Tuesday and Thursday evenings all year, led by England Athletics qualified coaches and designed for all abilities, with a varied programme including on- and off-road sessions and use of a grass track in summer. Additional sessions are added at times of year, such as Saturday morning cross country training and group Sunday runs; coaches can also provide individual training plans. In winter both Tuesday and Thursday sessions meet at Strode Leisure Centre, Clevedon, just before 19:00 by the club notice board or outside the main entrance; on summer Tuesdays the group meets on the main field of Clevedon Community School for a track-based session. Training plans are issued monthly and are available in the members area, which requires a login. Membership options are listed on the site. A free taster session can be arranged via the contact form on the website. The club also organises the Boxing Day 4-mile Road Race and the Midsummer 10K in June. England Athletics affiliated club.
