Run club in BURNHAM-ON-SEA
Burnham on Sea Harriers is a running club for people in Burnham on Sea, Highbridge and the surrounding areas, supporting runners of all abilities. The main weekly club run is on Tuesday evening from the Bay Centre, organised into groups by pace, with members also arranging other social runs during the week. Members race locally, nationally and internationally, and the club organises three annual races.
The main club night is Tuesday, with runners splitting into several groups running at different paces from the Bay Centre from 18:00 onwards; the club advises checking the Burnham Harriers Facebook page as runs can occasionally start from other locations. Members also arrange ad hoc road and trail runs on Sunday mornings and other social runs during the week. Speed sessions (sprints, repetitions, intervals, pyramids, fartlek, etc., roughly one hour including warm-up and warm-down) are run by the club coach and running leaders at locations such as Burnham on Sea promenade or Church Lane, Brent Knoll, mainly on the Tuesday club evening but sometimes another evening; requests can be posted on the club Facebook page. The club has a qualified Coach in Running Fitness and several Leaders in Running Fitness. Prospective members can come along to a Tuesday session before joining; to join, complete the online membership application form. Fees for 2025/26 are £25 standard (including £20 England Athletics affiliation) and £10 social/non-participating, due by 1 April and reviewed at the February AGM. The club also organises the Brean Banger 10km, the Burnham on Sea half marathon and the Brent Knoll race, and provides the core volunteer team for Burnham and Highbridge parkrun on Saturday mornings.
