Run club in Nottingham
Notts Women Runners (NWR) is a women-only running club for ladies across Nottinghamshire and is described as the county's largest England Athletics affiliated running club. It places particular emphasis on getting complete beginners running, while also welcoming existing runners of any pace. Sessions are led by volunteer run leaders and range from structured beginner and improver courses to member-led social runs.
Sessions fall into three types: beginners groups following a 10-week couch-to-5k programme run by qualified Leaders in Running Fitness (LiRF) and ending in a 5km graduation; improvers groups, also 10 weeks, building 5km confidence and speed and increasing distance towards 10km with structured sessions such as hills and intervals, sometimes ending in a 10km graduation; and social runs, which are member-led and may not have a run leader present, with a "nobody gets left behind" policy. Groups cater to multiple abilities, fast or slow, and are supported by volunteers, trained coaches (CiRF) and England Athletics Mental Health Champions. The website text does not state session days, times, locations or membership costs. Contact is by email to committee roles, including nottswrcommunications@gmail.com for general queries and membershipnwr@gmail.com for membership; members are asked to use these addresses rather than private messages.
