Run club in ILKESTON
Ilkeston Running Club is a club formed in August 1981 that runs from Rutland Sports Park in Ilkeston. It caters for a mix of abilities and states that no runner is left to run alone, asking that members can run 10k in around 60-65 minutes. A typical week is a Tuesday social run of 5-7 miles (8-11km) in two to three pace groups, plus a coached training session on Thursday.
The club runs twice a week: Tuesday social runs led by run leaders across various paces over 5-7 miles, and Thursday coached sessions that alternate between the track at Rutland Sports Park and routes local to Ilkeston, covering track, hill and speed work, usually up to an hour including warm-up. The schedule can change because of league or handicap races (Derby Runner BDL, Notts AAA Summer League, handicap races at Nutbrook), so the training page schedule should be checked. Membership is two-tier: Type A at ยฃ43 per year, which includes England Athletics registration, race entry discounts and eligibility for the club London Marathon ballot after one full year, and Type B at ยฃ20 per year, which allows participation in club activities and BDL league races but not Notts AAA races. Members joining in January get 15 months for the price of 12. Club race vests cost ยฃ28 and can be added to the initial membership payment. Payment is by BACS transfer (sort code 40-19-37, account 31419250) and a membership form can be downloaded from the site; there is also an enquiry form. England Athletics affiliated club.
