About

Heanor Running Club is a club in Heanor, Derbyshire, with senior and junior sections. It welcomes both people taking their first steps in running and more experienced runners, with coached group training twice a week. Sessions are grouped by ability, and the club also competes in local road and cross country leagues.

Senior club training runs every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the year, starting at 18:30 in summer and 18:45 in winter. Seniors meet at Shipley Hall Cricket Club from April to September and at the Heanor Minors Welfare from October to March. Sessions are said to cater for all abilities, led by UKA-qualified coaches including a UKA Level 2 Endurance Coach and several Leaders in Running Fitness. The club takes part in the Derby Runner Summer Road League, Derby Runner XC League and North Midlands XC League, and runs internal competitions such as a club championship, time trial and grand prix, plus social pub runs. It also organises the Matthew Walker Pudding Run 10K at Shipley Country Park. Membership details are on the site; enquiries to info@heanorrunningclub.com or club chairman Rob on 07963 037991.
