Run club in Banbury
Hook Norton Harriers is a running club based at the Hook Norton Sports & Social Club in Oxfordshire, open to people of all ages and abilities. Members come from across Oxfordshire and neighbouring counties. A typical run is a Tuesday evening group run around the village, out to nearby villages or across Cotswold countryside and fields when the light allows, with roads used mainly in winter and cross country in summer.
Weekly club training is on Tuesday evenings at 19:00, with mixed ability groups and optional more structured training sessions also offered on Tuesdays, particularly in winter. Members often attend local parkruns (Banbury, Chipping Norton School, Stratford-upon-Avon) and take part in series such as the Mota-vation series and the Oxon Cross Country series, plus a club championship, club races and social events. The club organises the Hooky 6 and the Christmas Canter races. Membership for 2026 costs £41 individual and £73 couple, running April to March, reduced to £32 and £56.50 if joining after 1 October; it includes England Athletics registration (giving subsidised race entry) and membership of Hook Norton Sports & Social Club. To join, complete the online membership form or email, and the membership secretary will arrange payment; newcomers can also turn up on a Tuesday at 19:00, ideally letting the club know in advance.
