Run club in CHELTENHAM
Bourton Roadrunners Club is a road running club founded in 1981 and based in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire. It is affiliated to Gloucestershire AAA and England Athletics/UK Athletics, and gives attached runner status to full members. Sessions run four days a week and cater for a range of abilities, from a "Beyond C25k" group to longer 5-7.5 mile runs and speed work.
Weekly sessions are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Wednesday and Friday mornings, with members arranging further social or training runs on other days. Tuesday and Thursday start with a "Beyond C25k" 2.5 mile run at 12-14 min/mile pace, followed at 18:45 by 3 mile or 5-6 mile options, plus a speed work/efforts session on Tuesdays at a pre-arranged venue; a longer run of about 7-7.5 miles is offered once a month on Thursdays. Wednesday at 09:00 starts from Bourton Rovers Football Club Pavilion with distances to suit varied needs, and Friday at 09:00 is a speedwork/efforts session with the meeting point given in the run schedule. Route maps and the current session schedule are published on the website. The club meets in all weather except Christmas Day. Newcomers can run with the club a few times before joining; further details are available from the Membership Secretary by email, and there is a Join Us page. The club occasionally runs NHS Couch to 5K courses and organises three races a year: the High Bridge Jewellers 10k in February, the Bourton Mile in May and the Bourton Half Marathon in September. No membership cost is stated. England Athletics affiliated club.
