Carleton Running Community

Carleton Running Community — a run club in Pontefract. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, road running, trail running. RunAndTalk club (mental-health friendly).

Sessions run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, meeting at 18:50 for a 19:00 start at the beer garden entrance of The Carleton pub. Session types vary and include an "Out and Back" run (20 minutes out, then back), group 5km and 5 mile runs, and coached sessions covering hills, speed, intervals, fartlek and technique, delivered by qualified England Athletics CiRF and LiRF coaches or by experienced runners following coach-planned sessions. Runs must be booked via the club app (Stack Team App, requesting access to Carleton Running Community). Newcomers can try three weeks free. The home page lists membership at £26 (April to March), while the join page states a standard annual fee of £31 for April 2025 to March 2026 (£35 if joining before 1 April 2025), including the £21 England Athletics individual affiliation; second claim membership is £15 per year or part year, and Greene King employees pay only the £21 England Athletics fee. Transfers from other clubs incur a £10 England Athletics admin fee and no refunds are given for leaving mid-year. To join, complete the online membership form, pay the fee by bank transfer (details from Chris or Rich), download the club app and read the club policies. Members are accepted from age 16; under-18s must attend with a responsible adult family member and complete a safeguarding risk assessment. England Athletics affiliated club.
