Run club in READING
Wargrave & Twyford Runners is a small running club founded in 1984, based in the Wargrave and Twyford area. Members range from competitive athletes to casual joggers, and sessions cover road, track and winter cross country. The club also runs social running events and organises the Wargrave 10k with Barnes Fitness.
The club holds a weekly weekday evening interval session, a monthly track training session, and joins a local 5k run on Tuesdays; social running events through the year include staggered jogs and a "Predicted Time" summer event. It is a member of TVARC and TVXC, which run closed 5k and cross country series (winter cross country races are on Sunday mornings from October to February), and the club hosts one of the summer 5k races. Annual membership runs 1 April to 31 March and costs £15 single (over 18), £20 family, £6 social; England Athletics athlete registration is optional at an additional £20 from April 2025. The club is England Athletics affiliated and can ballot for a London Marathon club place under set criteria. Newcomers can run with the club without joining first; first-time visitors are asked to send an enquiry through the contact form on the website so the club knows to look out for them.
