Run club in Marlow
Marlow Striders is a running club founded in 1989 with over 250 members, affiliated to England Athletics. It caters for runners of all abilities, from short easy runs to ultra marathons, with groups split by pace. Sessions start with a welcome, announcements of recent achievements and upcoming events.
Tuesday club night is at Marlow Sports Club at 19:00, meeting in the upstairs bar area of the clubhouse; Thursday runs start from the club or a designated meeting place, and Friday is an interval session at Little Marlow track at additional cost. At weekends, when there are no club events, there are leader-led or informal longer runs from various locations. Usual groups are Easy Striders (3-4 miles, 12+ min/mile), Easy Striders Plus (4-5 miles, 11 min/mile), Breezy Striders (6 miles, 10-9 min/mile), Breezy Striders Plus (6-7 miles, 9-8 min/mile) and Speedy Striders (6-7 miles, 8 min/mile and below). Annual membership is £40 for seniors over 18, £25 for those 65+, free for 70+, and £5 for restricted social membership; the membership year runs 1 April to 31 March with a 25% reduction per quarter for those joining part way through, and fees exclude UKA membership.
