University of Plymouth Athletics Club (UPAC) is the students' union athletics and running club at the University of Plymouth. It caters to all abilities, from competitive athletes to social runners, with endurance, sprint and field training groups alongside social runs. Typical social runs are 4-15km at an easy aerobic pace with several pace groups and a stated policy that nobody runs alone.
The club runs two track training sessions a week (endurance, sprint and field groups) on Wednesday 14:00-15:30 and Friday 18:00-19:00, plus social runs on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and a weekly parkrun on Saturday at Central Park, Mount Edgcumbe or Plym Valley. Social runs meet at the SU roof ten minutes before the start. Competitive opportunities include the Westward Cross Country League (October-March), BUCS cross country and indoor/outdoor championships, and Run Plymouth events. Standard membership is £50 and covers both track sessions, social runs and optional club competition entry; track sessions can also be paid per session at £5 via the shop page; committee membership is £40.
