About

Plymstock Road Runners is a running club based in Plymouth, open to people new to running, occasional joggers and experienced runners. Sessions are run at a range of paces and distances with no pressure to compete, and the group checks that no one is left behind. Members also take part in local races from 5K to marathons and ultras, plus trail races and parkruns.

Weekly sessions include a Monday sprints, hills or fartlek session led by Alan Jones and helpers (Broadway Car Park PL9 7AU, or Goosewell School in summer โ€” check Facebook), Thursday club night from the church hall with four routes ranging from 2 to 6 miles followed by soft drinks and biscuits, and Saturday options: an 08:00 group run of 5-6 miles from Morrisons PL9 7BH, a 09:00 five-mile run from Dean Cross car park, parkrun at 09:00, and a 10:00 endurance session with Armada Athletic Network coaches at Brickfields track PL1 4NE. Annual membership is ยฃ22 with no weekly fees, renewing on 31 March each year, reduced if joining part-way through the year; the first two sessions are free with no commitment. England Athletics affiliation is an optional extra at ยฃ23. The club is affiliated to UK Athletics and the Association of Running Clubs and is a member of the Armada Athletic Network. Session details and informal runs are posted on the club Facebook page and attendance is organised through Spond. England Athletics affiliated club.
