Run club in Plymouth
City of Plymouth Athletic Club is an athletics club based at the Brickfields Complex (recently rebranded Foulston Park) in Devonport, Plymouth, covering track and field, endurance and cross country for all ages and abilities from juniors to veterans. Senior sessions are held on the club's six-lane track, with a separate distance group lane for endurance runners. Members are encouraged to represent the club in local and national competition.
Coaching is offered across track and field (sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws), endurance (middle and long distance) and cross country, with named coaches for each discipline and a head coach. The Brickfields track can only be used by members during the club's booked times; to train in those slots you must be a monthly paying member or book in advance as pay-as-you-go or a guest through the club's Calendar/Events page. Outside booked hours the track may only be used as a casual user by booking in at Brickfields Sports Centre and paying a small fee. Training lanes are allocated as lane 1 for the distance group, lanes 2-4 for sprints and lanes 5-6 for hurdles, and athletes are asked to coordinate with the coaches present. All coaches and officials are England Athletics qualified and hold an enhanced DBS check. The club is a voluntary organisation and part of the Armada network of local running clubs, and also fields cross country and SWAL teams. Contact: tel 07831 238840, or via the club contacts page and Facebook. England Athletics affiliated club.
