Tadcaster Harriers. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, hill fell, road running, trail running. RunAndTalk club (mental-health friendly).
Tuesday sessions are organised by club coaches, starting with a dynamic warm-up and usually splitting into at least four groups, each with a Run Leader: Group A around 7:00 min/mile, B 8:00, C 9:00, D 9:30, E 10:00 and F 11:00 min/mile. On the first Tuesday of each month there is a speed endurance session of hill or sprint reps, with a steady paced run offered as an alternative. Thursday is a more social run in one or two groups, with runners at the back allowed to catch up; the site states you need to manage about 12 minutes per mile or faster for 4 to 5 miles, and once a month it is a #runandtalk run for mental health awareness. Run Leaders attend all sessions to set the route. The club competes in road, cross country, trail, fell and ultra races and runs internal competitions including a Handicap Championship (from 1 October, courses around Tadcaster), the York and District Summer League (6 races plus a handicap, chipped timing, low cost entry) and an 11-race Club Championship from October to September with trophies at the annual dinner. The club is affiliated to England Athletics and uses its safeguarding and welfare policies. Contact: tadcasterharriers@gmail.com. England Athletics affiliated club.
