Run club in FAREHAM
Stubbington Green Runners is a Hampshire running club founded in 1985, based between Portsmouth and Southampton and drawing members from Stubbington, Lee on the Solent, Titchfield, Locks Heath, Whiteley and the surrounding area. It has around 500 members and caters for runners of all abilities, with sessions led by qualified coaches and run leaders. A typical club night is a steady group run split into pace groups, with warm-up, regroups and run-backs so nobody is left behind.
The club runs two types of organised training plus informal member-organised runs. Organised group runs take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 18:30 and are split into pace groups: Group A covers 3 to 4 miles at 10:30 to 13:00 minutes per mile, Group B 5 to 6 miles at 9:00 to 10:30, and Group C 6 to 7.5 miles at 7:30 to 9:00. Coached sessions run through the week and include speed work, hill sessions, drills, warm-up and cool-down; a club time trial is held once a month on a Thursday. Off-road options at Whiteley Woods or Holly Hill Park are advertised to members on Facebook and are dog friendly. Booking is not required and members can turn up on the night; a three-month session schedule is published on the website and the Facebook group "SGR Sessions and Group Runs" carries extra session information. Questions about coached sessions can go to club-coach@stubbingtongreenrunners.net. The club also organises the Stubbington 10k, next held on 10 January 2027. England Athletics affiliated club.
