Run club in Portsmouth
City of Portsmouth Athletic Club (COPAC) is an athletics club based at the Mountbatten Centre in Hilsea, Portsmouth, covering running, jumping and throwing. Running provision ranges from sprint training to middle-distance and marathon endurance groups, with coached sessions for athletes from Under 14 upwards through to senior and veteran ages. The club describes itself as suitable for both experienced athletes and people just starting out.
Running training groups are organised by discipline: sprinting, middle-distance and endurance. The club recommends starting with one discipline, though athletes may train with more than one group in agreement with their coaches. Non-members can request a free trial by submitting the enquiry form on the website, stating which area (for example sprinting or endurance running) they are interested in; a member of the team then makes contact. Existing members renew membership through the registration page on the site. The club also organises the Victory 5, a 5-mile road race established in 1946, with the 2026 date to be confirmed. No specific training days, times or fees are given on the page. England Athletics affiliated club.
