Run club in FELIXSTOWE
Felixstowe Road Runners is a local running club with around 200 members in Felixstowe and the surrounding area, welcoming new members of all standards. Sessions are led by UK Athletics licensed coaches, assistants and run leaders, and cater for all speeds. The club also organises three road races each year: the Kirton 5 mile, the Coastal 10 and the Martlesham 10K, plus less formal events and social activities.
Tuesday club training starts at 18:45 at Brackenbury Sports Centre and typically begins with a mile warm-up, followed by a speed, hill or "fun" session, a cool-down run back and stretching; hi-vis is required. Daytime training runs on an ad-hoc basis, aiming for once a week, mostly Thursdays at 11:00 from Brackenbury Sports Centre, and does not run over the summer. Track training is held at Northgate Sports Centre roughly 8-10 times per year (recent listing 20:00 on a Wednesday), open to all members and suitable for all abilities; confirmed dates appear on the club calendar and Facebook group. Visitors and prospective members can try one or two Tuesday sessions before joining. Membership runs 1 April to 31 March and requires completing the online membership form and paying: social ยฃ12, solo ยฃ35, junior ยฃ10, family ยฃ58, second claim ยฃ35, with additional competing family members ยฃ23 each; all members are registered with England Athletics.
