Run club in WOODBRIDGE
Woodbridge Shufflers Running Club is a Suffolk club formed in 1980, running for fitness and for charity fundraising. It offers sessions for all abilities, from slow social jogs to structured coached training, mostly on trails and routes around Woodbridge. Typical runs range from 3-4 mile social outings to trail runs of 8-12 miles, with regrouping so no one is left behind.
Adult sessions are organised through the Spond app; contact membership@woodbridgeshufflers.org.uk to be added to the Spond groups. Visitors can attend a couple of taster sessions before deciding on membership. Tuesday evenings include summer trail runs of about 5 and 7 miles, a slow 3-4 mile run, and structured interval training at Woodbridge School; in winter there is structured training, a slow 3-4 mile social run, a longer 5 mile run and occasional head-torch trail runs. The first Wednesday of each month is a joint structured training session with other local clubs at Northgate Sports Centre, with clubs taking turns to provide a coach. Thursday afternoons are a 4 mile social run followed by coffee. Sunday mornings offer slow (3-4 miles), longer (about 8 miles) and long (10-12 miles) trail runs. Couch to 5k courses run every March and September. Trail runs go at the pace of the slowest runner with frequent regrouping, and the slow run is about 12-14 minutes per mile; structured sessions are led by England Athletics certified coaches. The club organises the annual Woodbridge 10k and junior race. England Athletics affiliated club.
