Run club in North Canberra
Corroboree Athletics is a Canberra athletics club, established in 1970 as the oldest Little Athletics club in the ACT, based at Dickson Playing Fields. Its main activity is a Saturday morning track and field programme for children from age three, but athletes aged 17 and above can also join, compete for Corroboree at Capital Athletics events and take part in a small number of adult events held at the end of the usual Saturday programme. Events include sprinting, middle distance running, hurdling, walking, jumps and throws, and participation is open to first timers as well as experienced athletes.
The season runs from October to March, with weekly Saturday meets from 08:30 to about 11:00 (breaking over Christmas and the January school holidays); the programme rotates between four schedules to cover the full range of track and field events, including sprints, middle distance, hurdles, walks, jumps and throws. Registration is through the club's registration page, and Capital Athletics also offers a community membership that lets parents take part at a lower price; adult members compete under the Corroboree name at Capital Athletics events. Midweek training sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays are listed on the club calendar. Cancellations due to poor conditions are announced on the website, the club WhatsApp group and Facebook. Contact details are on the club website. Capital Athletics (ACT) affiliated club.
