About

Comox Valley Cougars Track & Field Club is a volunteer-run athletics club in Courtenay, British Columbia, established for more than 40 years. It caters to both children and adults from developmental level through to elite, including a Masters group, and covers middle distance running alongside sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws and multi-events. Training takes place at the Vanier Oval track, with athletes also competing in island series meets and BC Athletics provincial championships.

The club provides coaching, facilities, equipment and competition opportunities year-round, and is entirely volunteer run. Training is offered in sprints, hurdles, middle distance running, horizontal and vertical jumps, throws and multi-events. Adults train through the Athlete Development program, which includes a Masters stream; training days and times vary according to the events an athlete takes part in and are confirmed in late winter or early spring, with details published in the club's annual program guide. Sessions run rain or shine except in very poor weather, and practice updates or cancellations are posted to the club's TeamSnap account. Registration enquiries go to the club registrar; contact details are on the club website. Athletics Canada affiliated club (via AthleticsReg).
