Oceanside Track & Field Club

Oceanside Track and Field Club (OTFC) is a volunteer-run track and field club on Vancouver Island, registered with BC Athletics and a member of the Vancouver Island Athletics Association (Zone 6). Its stated focus is giving local youth the opportunity to excel, with Junior Development and High School training groups, and it also lists a Masters group for athletes aged 19 and over with times still to be confirmed. Members compete in the Island Series VIAA meets held between April and June in Port Alberni, Victoria, Nanaimo, Duncan and Comox, as well as provincial championships.

The 2026 season has ended and registration is closed; the club says it looks forward to the next season. Published training times cover Junior Development (ages 9-13) and High School (ages 14-18) only, while Masters training for athletes aged 19 and over is listed as to be confirmed. Joining requires registration both with BC Athletics/Athletics Canada and with OTFC; listed 2026 Junior Development fees were BC Athletics/Athletics Canada registration of $86.36, OTFC club registration of $200 and a refundable $200 per-family volunteer deposit (refunded after 10 volunteer hours), with an optional $40 competition singlet. High School registration was $40 including a singlet, plus BC Athletics membership of $125 or a $5 day-of-event fee plus per-event charges. Club registration does not include meet fees; the six Island Series VIAA meets are typically $30 for a weekend regardless of how many events are entered. Masters athletes aged 35 and over can compete at the BC Athletics Masters Track and Field Championships, and the Island Series meets include Senior and Masters age groups.
