Run club in Gibsons
Sunshine Coast Athletics is a recently re-formed athletics club on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, covering track and field, cross country, trail running and road running. It states that it aims to help both children and adults develop the skills and techniques of the sport, serving athletes from developmental through to elite level, and also supports talented athletes pursuing competitive goals. Training takes place at the Elphinstone Secondary School track in Gibsons, with the 2026 season being the club's first after re-forming.
The club is a non-profit, entirely volunteer-run organisation affiliated with the athletics scene on the Sunshine Coast, offering coaching, facilities, equipment and competition opportunities year-round for athletes from developmental to elite level. From spring 2026 its programme includes track and field training (initially focused on youth), high school athlete support, group coaching and mentorship, chaperoned travel to competitions, spring and summer development camps, and community running opportunities.
