Run club in Brackley
Brackley & District Running Club is a club for runners aged 18 and over from Brackley and the surrounding villages, covering all abilities from newcomers to those racing from 5K to marathons, ultras and cross country. Club runs are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, usually starting and finishing at Brackley Leisure Centre and typically lasting about an hour. Sessions are led by leaders qualified through England Athletics and the group splits into pace groups, including a dedicated Gentle Pace Group.
Sessions include paced runs around Brackley, hill intervals, speedwork and, in summer, local trail routes; occasional track sessions are held in Banbury. Winter evening runs are typically 3-6 miles on lit town loops and high-visibility clothing is required. The Gentle Pace Group runs alongside the main groups at a steadier pace and shorter distance, with two leaders per route and regular regrouping stops; members are asked to be able to run 4 miles at around 10-11:30 minutes per mile. Runners are advised to arrive 10-15 minutes before the prompt start. Visitors can try up to three sessions free before joining. Membership from April 2026 is £45, reducing to £35 for August-November 2026 and £25 from December 2026 to March 2027 (£15 without England Athletics affiliation); renewals are due by the end of April each year.
