Run club in Bicester
Alchester Running Club โ a run club in Bicester. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, race walking, road running. RunAndTalk club (mental-health friendly).
Two weekly sessions: Tuesday pace improvement/interval training, usually led by Richard Gould, meeting 18:50 for a 19:00 start at Gavray Drive / Whimbrel Close, Langford Village in winter (mid-September to mid-April) and Whitelands Farm Sports Ground in summer (mid-April to mid-September); sessions include a group warm-up, reps of a set distance or time, and a cool-down and stretches. Thursday club night starts 18:50 for 19:00 at Bicester and Ploughley Sports Centre, rear car park by the outdoor football pitch, with runners split into pace groups on the night from roughly 7:00 to 10:30 minute miles; each group runs for about an hour, typically 6 miles, with shorter 4-5 mile routes available. The club rule is that runners stick together and nobody is left behind, and first-timers are advised to start one group slower. Occasional social runs are arranged from other start points and are listed in the What's On section. Potential new members can attend a trial session; contact chairman@alchester-runningclub.co.uk in advance to discuss pace and distance. The club has Facebook and Instagram pages and a members-only Strava group. No membership fee is stated on the site. England Athletics affiliated club.
