Bere Alston Trekkers (BATs) is a community running club based in Bere Alston, Devon, with over 50 members of mixed ages and abilities. It caters for everyone from beginners to ultra runners, using a range of local road and trail routes. Club nights are on Wednesdays and usually include a coached session and a social run, with coaches and run leaders on hand.
Wednesday is club run night, normally offering one coached session and one social run, with an additional away run added during the summer months. During British Summer Time the club meets at Bere Alston Primary School car park; during winter it meets at Holy Trinity Church Hall. The last Wednesday of each month is a time trial over a standard route starting from Bere Alston Trinity Hall, followed by tea and cake, with bag drop available in the hall. Runs track back for slower runners. A Couch to 5k programme starts Wednesday 22 April 2026 at 18:45 from the primary school car park; people can just turn up, and there is a Couch to 5k Facebook group. Membership is £38 full, £68 couples, £28 students, £21 second claim, £21 social, paid via the club's Natwest account, using the membership form on the website.
