Run club in Bicester
Bicester AC is an athletics club founded in 1982, based at The Bicester School in Bicester, Oxfordshire. It is predominantly a junior track and field and cross country club but states it can cater for all ages from 8 years upwards and for all abilities, whether competitive or training to keep fit. Members compete in track and field leagues, cross country and local road races such as the Motavation series.
Winter training (September to March) consists of Sunday all-round conditioning, fitness and cross country training from 09:50 at weekly-confirmed venues (Manston Park, The Bicester School, Croughton), Tuesday circuit training in the gym at The Bicester School (U14 and above, members only, 18:00 registration to 19:15) and Wednesday indoor sportshall training at Bicester Leisure Centre — all organised by school year group. Summer track and field training runs from April to September on Tuesday and Thursday evenings on the grass track at The Bicester School, split into a session for school years 3 to 6 (18:30 to 19:15) and one for school years 7 and above (19:15 to 20:15). Training costs £2.00 per session and attendance is arranged through Teamer invites; membership is required apart from a four-session trial for new starters. New attendees are asked to contact the membership secretary before their first session rather than turning up, and there is a joining enquiry form on the website. Non-athletes are also welcomed as helpers in administration, coaching or officiating. England Athletics affiliated club.
