Yorkshire Wolds Runners is a running club based in Driffield, East Yorkshire, formed in 2010 and affiliated to UK Athletics. It is open to runners aged 18 and over of all abilities, from complete beginners to competitive racers, with sessions ranging from gentle walk/run groups of 1–2 miles to runs of 7 miles or more. Sessions are led by qualified coaches, the club states that no one runs alone or is left behind, and VI guide runners are available for visually impaired athletes.
The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 19:00. Tuesday is a run night, either from Driffield Leisure Centre or an agreed meeting point for away runs, and includes tempo, progression and fartlek runs on selected Tuesdays in winter. Thursday alternates between interval sessions and hill sessions; summer interval training includes track sessions at Driffield School track and one at Bramcote Athletics track in Scarborough, and hill sessions run at locations such as Wold Road, Danes Graves, Sledmere Monument and Cowlam. Coaches tailor pace, duration and effort to those attending, and members are asked to tell a coach about any injuries. Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Year's Eve runs are held in the morning as the leisure centre is closed in the evening. Members should check the club notices or contact a committee member before attending in case a session is being run elsewhere. A no-obligation one-month free trial is offered to prospective members; membership benefits include England Athletics/UKA affiliation, 15% discount at Sportsshoes.com, 10% at Start Fitness and discounted East Riding Leisure Centre membership. Away run details, route maps and meeting points are posted in the members' area, on Facebook, WhatsApp and by email.
