Run club in York
Beverley Athletic Club is an affiliated running club formed in 1993, based in Beverley, East Yorkshire, focused primarily on road and cross country running. It has around 180 adult members and welcomes runners of all abilities and ages. The main club run is on Wednesday evenings at a different location each week, with coached speed sessions on other evenings.
The club offers a Wednesday club run plus coach-led sessions during the week: speed training on Thursdays and an introduction to speed training on Fridays (strength and conditioning is also run on Mondays). A Welcome Runner squad supports new joiners at every Wednesday club run, and runners are grouped by pace before setting off, with a group warm-up of gentle jogging and drills at 6:20pm. Anyone wanting to attend a session is asked to contact the club secretary, Fiona, or the membership secretary, Catriona, in advance. Membership includes UKA registration (stated as worth ยฃ15), coaching from UKA-affiliated coaches and leaders, free entry to regional and national relay and county events, cross country events with transport often provided, access to local road and cross country leagues, subsidised club social events and a club vest for new members. The club also runs a junior section for those over 9 and organises events including the Beverley 10K and the Yorkshire Wolds Way Relay. England Athletics affiliated club.
