Run club in Peterborough
Yaxley Runners and Joggers is a running club formed in 1986 with over 100 members drawn from Peterborough and the surrounding area. It welcomes runners of all abilities, from faster runners to those at the back, and trains together twice a week alongside local races and social activities. Club nights involve group runs from a set meeting point, with routes varying on Thursdays.
Club evenings are Mondays and Thursdays, meeting at 18:30 to run at 18:45, except the club handicap which starts at 18:30. Monday runs start from Vivacity Hampton Sports Centre, Clayburn Road, Hampton Hargate, PE7 8HG, and a beginners rota operates on Monday nights so anyone new to the club or to running has an experienced member to run with. Thursday locations vary but are always local to Peterborough, using venues such as Glinton, Bushfield, Castor, Thorpe Wood, Folksworth, Stanground, Ramblewood Inn, the Regional Pool/Athletics Track on Bishop's Road, Sawtry, Stilton, Elton and Werrington Leisure Centre. Long weekend runs are arranged informally among club runners. Racing and attending every club night are not compulsory. To join, contact any committee member or turn up and introduce yourself; a membership form can be downloaded from the website. Adult membership cost is not stated. England Athletics affiliated club.
