Run club in Ipswich
Ipswich JAFFA (Jogging And Fitness For All) is a running club founded in 1977 whose members range from beginners and social runners to competitive club runners and international athletes. Coached sessions are offered for all paces and abilities. A typical Monday club night starts with announcements, a warm-up and then leader-led group runs of 4โ8 miles at a range of paces, with a separate beginners group.
Monday club nights at Northgate Sports Club begin with announcements at 19:15, covering recent race results and forthcoming events; group leaders then announce the distance and pace of their run and the club aims to be out running by 19:30. There are usually five or six leader-led groups covering 4โ8 miles at paces from 10:00 to 6:30 per mile, plus a beginners group for those not yet able to manage those distances or speeds. A warm-up is led by a member before the run. Ipswich JAFFA has exclusive use of Northgate track on Monday evenings for small-group coached sessions, and other regular sessions include hill work at Valley Road on Thursdays in winter and an early Saturday session in Christchurch Park. Beginners courses run twice a year with follow-up support. Non-members are invited to come along to a Monday night session. Contact: info@ipswichjaffa.org.uk. The club has around 300 senior members and was established in 1977. England Athletics affiliated club.
