About

Walney Wind Cheetahs is an England Athletics affiliated running club based at Park Vale on Walney Island, Cumbria. Members range from experienced athletes to slow walk-runners, aged 12 to 80+, with a separate junior section. Sessions take place during the day, in the evening and at weekends, on road, trail and cross country.

Regular training sessions meet on Monday and Wednesday at 17:45. The club caters for beginners, runners returning from injury, those wanting company on a social run and members targeting personal bests across all distances. Guests can try the club for free, whether local, on holiday or visiting for work; contact the club via the website to be set up for a run. The club also hosts the Run Like The Wind 10K and Fun Run (6 May 2026), and its constitution is available to download from the About Us page. England Athletics affiliated club.
