University of St Andrews Athletics and Cross Country Club is a student sports club covering track and field athletics and long distance/cross country running. It caters for beginners as well as experienced athletes, with training groups split by discipline and pace. A typical week includes club social runs from Saints Sport, grass interval sessions and track sessions held in Dundee, alongside competition in BUCS, Scottish Student Sport, national, road and hill races.
Running sessions include a beginners run, club runs (divided into multiple pace groups) exploring paths around St Andrews, grass intervals for cross country, and Tuesday/Thursday track sessions led by a Fife sprints coach and the club's athletics captains, with groups for sprints (up to 400m), middle distance (up to 3000m) and field. Cross country sessions are led by Scottish Athletics qualified coaches from Fife and are aimed at those running 5km and upwards, with training alongside Fife Athletic Club members. Some weekend sessions alternate with the St Andrews parkrun at 09:30 in Craigtoun Country Park, which the club supports and periodically helps run.
