Run club in Seaham
Tempest Running Club (Tempest RC) is an England Athletics affiliated, primarily social running club based in Seaham, north east England. It caters for all abilities, from people who have just finished a couch to 5K style introduction to members racing from 5K to marathon and beyond. Typical runs are organised group sessions led by qualified run leaders, covering easy-paced runs, hill or interval work, and seafront or coastal trail routes.
Three core weekly sessions are led by England Athletics qualified run leaders, with distance and focus varying week to week: Monday is generally easy pace over 5K to 5 miles; Wednesday offers a choice of a shorter or longer continuous run, or a harder session such as hill or interval training; Saturday morning runs range from a gentle seafront 5K to trail runs on the Durham coastal paths. Additional activities include semi-regular Social Sunday runs exploring routes further afield, track sessions roughly once a month focused on speed work, themed events (Christmas, Halloween, Good Friday chip shop run, Richie's remembrance run) and charity runs. A beginners 5K course was advertised as starting on Wednesday 23 September. The club is affiliated to England Athletics. To join, send a message using the contact form on the website and a member of the team will reply. No membership cost is stated. England Athletics affiliated club.
