The club is affiliated to England Athletics and provides coaching, facilities and competition opportunities in track and field, road and cross country. Members compete in fixtures such as the North Eastern Counties events, North East Harrier League cross country and road relays, and the club stages its own annual Penshaw Hill Race in May. Coaching is delivered by volunteer England Athletics licensed coaches, and the club supports members who wish to gain coaching qualifications. Membership details are handled through the Membership section of the site and the Membership Secretary; the site invites prospective members to attend a training night.
