Run club in Sydney
Sydney Frontrunners is an LGBTQIA+ and allies running and walking club founded in 1983 and affiliated with International Frontrunners. It welcomes people of all abilities, ages and gender identities, including walkers, and holds regular weekly runs alongside social events. A typical week includes a Saturday park run/walk and a midweek run, with groups covering everything from walking and easy running to marathon training.
The club runs a main Saturday park run and a midweek Tuesday harbour run, with options ranging from leisurely runs to training for fun-runs, trail runs and half and full marathons; members are asked to state their ability so they can be matched with runners of similar pace. Monthly "focus runs" are external events around Sydney and regional New South Wales, such as the Sydney Marathon, City2Surf, Carcoar Running Festival, Sutherland to Surf and the Maroubra Fun Run, which members may enter as a team, in a group or individually. No registration is needed for a first visit and newcomers can turn up on the day; you can run with the club several times before deciding to take out paid membership. Exact meeting times, membership fees and contact details are on the club website. NSW Athletics affiliated club.
