Shropshire Shufflers

Shropshire Shufflers — a run club in Shrewsbury. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, hill fell, race walking, road running, trail running. RunAndTalk club (mental-health friendly).

Coach-led sessions run on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Thursday, Friday and Sunday mornings, plus a track session every Thursday evening at London Road, with strength and conditioning at the track every other Thursday. Runners are grouped by the approximate distance covered in a one-hour session: Foundation, Intermediate, Higher, Returners and Buggy Running, and members are encouraged to move between groups as fitness allows. In summer some Wednesday evening runs are replaced by an alternative run in a scenic location with refreshments afterwards, and hill/fell running evenings are also organised; summer alternative events are trail runs of about 4 to 6 miles followed by food and cake for a small fee. The club is affiliated to England Athletics for road, cross country and fell running, takes part in the North Wales cross country league and organises the Severn Bridges Race. Newcomers can try up to three sessions by messaging the club on Facebook or turning up 10 minutes before the start to speak to a run leader about the right group. On evening runs from October to April, light-coloured and/or high-visibility or reflective clothing must be worn at all times. England Athletics affiliated club.
