Shepshed Running Club — a run club in LOUGHBOROUGH. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, hill fell, road running, track field, trail running.
Club nights are Tuesday and Thursday at 19:00, with groups for different abilities (easy, medium or stretch) and run leaders who loop back to keep groups together. Thursday sessions are interval training after a warm-up; the first Tuesday of each month is an "away" run in Loughborough or at locations such as the Outwoods or Beacon Hill; occasional early morning Sunday social runs also take place. There is no charge for initial runs — newcomers sign in with name, contact details and any health conditions, and can run for a few weeks before joining. Membership runs from 1 April: standard £21, or £44 including UK Athletics (EA) registration, reducing to £10.50 for those joining between October and March; payment by BACS, cheque or cash, with forms returned to the membership secretary. Members must be 18 or over (no junior section). The club competes in the Derby Runner Cross Country and Leicestershire Road Running Leagues, attends local parkruns (local one is Dishley) and stages the Shepshed 7 race each November.
