Loughborough Students AC

Loughborough Students Athletics Club is the university athletics club at Loughborough, covering track, field and cross-country for students at all levels. It runs an Athletic Union club alongside a Performance programme, with coaching across sprints, endurance, jumps, throws and para events. Members train at the university's indoor and outdoor facilities and compete in university and open fixtures, from recreational participation to international-level competition.

The club covers track, field, cross-country and endurance, with professional and volunteer coaches across each event group; named staff include a Director of Athletics, an Athletic Programme Manager, and head coaches for endurance, sprints and hurdles, para sprints, pole vault and jumps. Two routes are offered: the Athletic Union (AU) club for students of all levels, and a Performance pathway for athletes competing at BUCS, national and international level. Members train multiple times per week at HiPAC and the Athletics and Throws Centre; no specific session days or times are listed. Membership includes entry to the Loughborough Indoor and Outdoor Opens, the Midland XC League and the Indoor Steel Cup / Indoor Inter Varsity Meet, and members can be selected for the Loughborough BUCS team. Joining the AU team takes place at the start of the academic year during Freshers, when prospective members can meet the coaches; other enquiries go through the athletics enquiry form on the site, with the Athletic Programme Manager as the main contact for competition and BUCS questions.
