Run club in Crawley
Pound Hill Pounders is a volunteer-run, free community running club founded in 2021 and based at Grattons Park in Crawley, with some sessions at Tilgate Park, Southgate playing fields and Cowdray Forest. It caters for all abilities, from Couch to 5K beginners through to experienced runners. A typical club night starts with a combined warm-up and stretch, followed by about 40 to 45 minutes of running in pace groups, then a group warm-down.
Club nights are Monday and Wednesday at 18:30. Running groups are Couch to 5K, Social (12 min/mile plus, also the progression group after Couch to 5K), Intermediate (10-12 min/mile) and Fast (9 min/mile); all groups are led by qualified England Athletics coaches. Wednesday locations change and may include hills, trail, circuits or parkrun training. Additional activities include trail sessions and long run weekends, both posted on the club Facebook group the week before with pace and location details, one-to-one run sessions arranged with Paul Smith or held on a club night, and group races from 5k up to half marathon arranged via the Facebook page. The group is run by volunteers and is completely free; buggy running is welcomed. The site also lists a walking group and a boot camp session. England Athletics affiliated club.
