Run club in Ramsey
Northern (Isle of Man) Athletic Club is an athletics club based in Ramsey offering coached sprint and middle-distance training alongside social running. Sessions are open from School Year 6 up to veterans and the club describes its training as suiting everyone from absolute beginner to top athlete. Typical adult activity includes coached track/road sessions, a Monday run, walk and jog group and a Thursday evening pack run for all abilities.
Training is organised around track/road groups and social runs. Saturday morning sessions cover sprinting (60mโ400m) and middle distance (800m, 1500m, plus 1- and 3-lap runners in the Winter Road Running Series and Park Runs), open to School Year 6 through to veterans, and are led by England Athletics licensed coach Neil Vondy; start times can change if the two groups are combined. Saturday and Thursday venues vary week to week, mostly in and around Ramsey during autumn and winter and sometimes at the NSC Track in Douglas, so the club Facebook page is updated on Thursday/Friday each week. NSC charges a track fee for sessions at the NSC Track. The Monday evening Ramsey Runs, Walks, Jogs group meets at Ramsey Rugby Club until early October and then at Mooragh Promenade opposite the swimming pool. Thursday also has a pack run for all abilities starting from the swimming pool in Ramsey. A club membership form (2026/27) is available on the site, and further details can be obtained from Neil Vondy by Facebook Messenger or email at northernathleticsclubiom@gmail.com. The club also lists separately run strength and conditioning and circuit training, which are not running sessions. England Athletics affiliated club.
