About

Manx Harriers. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, hill fell, race walking, road running, track field, trail running.

Several coached sessions run each week through the year. Running-related senior/expert sessions listed include half marathon/marathon training at 17:45 (venues vary, contact Nigel Armstrong), endurance running 18:00–19:00 at Ramsey, Mooragh with Steve Partington, sprints 18:15–19:30 and 18:00–19:15 (under 15 and above, contact Di Shimell), weekend sprints 10:15–11:45 and hurdles 09:30–10:45 (weather permitting, check with Di). The timetable is presented as a grid and the day of each session is not clearly stated in the available text. The club notes fewer sessions are running at present due to coach absences, with all sessions hoped to resume in July 2026, and age group changes from April 2026. Club membership does not cover use of the NSC track: the track is a public facility, paid for by NSC membership or pay-as-you-go (£2.60 juniors, adults to check at the NSC). First-time attendees are asked to contact the relevant coach in advance to check the session suits them and that there is space. Contacts: Nigel Armstrong (marathon) 487478, armstong@manx.net; Steve Partington 489583, stevepartington65@gmail.com; Di Shimell (sprints and hurdles) 623582/450488, dishimell@manx.net. The club also organises events including the Peel to Douglas Trail Race and a cross country league. England Athletics affiliated club.
