Run club in Lytchett Minster
Lytchett Manor Striders is a running club based in and around the village of Lytchett Minster, near Poole, open to runners of all abilities. It offers weekly training runs, social runs and competitive events, with runs starting from Lytchett Minster School, Lytchett Matravers, Canford Cliffs and other local areas. Sessions are led by run leaders and cover road and trail routes, including the Purbecks.
Three regular midweek runs plus weekend longer runs: Tuesday 19:00 from Canford Cliffs Esplanade with 5k and 6+ mile options (optional drinks at The Canford pub afterwards), Tuesday 18:30 trail session from the Recreation Ground in Lytchett Matravers (trail shoes recommended), and Thursday 19:00 from Lytchett Minster School Sports Centre with various paced groups led by run leaders. Sunday longer runs are usually 8 miles or more, often on trail around Wareham and the Purbecks, with multiple distance options and frequent regrouping; times and locations are announced on the Heylo app. Non-members can come along for a few training runs before joining. Membership includes benefits such as discounts on race entry and social events. The club also organises the Lytchett 10, a 10 mile road race held each February. England Athletics affiliated club.
