Run club in Lowestoft
Lowestoft Road Runners is a road and cross-country running club in Lowestoft, Suffolk, formed in 1996 and with around 100 members. It is open to runners aged 18 and over of all abilities, with the one requirement that members can run 5K. Weekly sessions range from a social 5k club run to coached hill and speed work, and members are encouraged to enter local races, relays and Suffolk championships.
Monday is a social 5k club run. Tuesday sessions focus on hills, speed work and other structured workouts led by club coaches. Thursday sessions vary week to week and may be a social run, an improver session or an exercise class; details are posted on the club calendar and in the Facebook group the day before. Sessions start from one of three locations: Water Lane Leisure Centre, Lowestoft (NR32 2NH), Clarkson Road, Oulton Broad (NR32 3NX), or Claremont Pier (NR33 0QN). The club has LiRF coaches supporting members from beginner level through to marathon training, and a CiRF coach on the committee. Members are also invited to join the club Strava group. Joining is via the "Join Now" link on the club website; the treasurer also acts as membership secretary. No membership fee is stated on the site. England Athletics affiliated club.
