Run club in Rotherham
Kimberworth Striders is a running club founded in 1986 to support runners in the Kimberworth area of Rotherham, and now has over 160 members from across the wider Rotherham area. It is open to runners of all ages and abilities, on roads and trails. Group runs meet twice a week from a pub base in Kimberworth.
Club runs are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 18:15 from The Droppingwell Pub. Training caters for a range of abilities and includes tempo, hill and speed sessions depending on the time of year and upcoming races; winter evening sessions are usually on roads, while summer sessions tend to be off-road unless an upcoming road race requires road training. The club organises its own races, including the Kimmy Kanter, Stan Bagshaw Toffee Run, Canal Race, Santa's Special and Kimmy Killer, and has run a graded Club Championship series since 1993 in which runners are divided into divisions by ability. Prospective members are asked to get in touch via the contact page on the website; membership costs are not stated. England Athletics affiliated club.
