Run club in Sheffield
Sheffield Running Club is a Sheffield-based club affiliated to England Athletics and Northern Athletics, meeting at the English Institute of Sport. It welcomes runners of all abilities, with sessions led by qualified England Athletics coaches and run leaders. Tuesday sessions are "pack runs" where groups go out at different paces and distances, Thursdays are interval or speed work sessions, and there are hill sessions and Sunday social runs.
Weekly sessions: Tuesday long runs with easy social and faster paced groups, Thursday intervals and speed work (fast and improvers groups), Saturday hill training, and Sunday social runs at times confirmed by run leaders. Tuesday pace groups range from an 11-minute-mile group covering 5km in about 40 minutes, a 9/10-minute-mile group doing 6-7 miles, an 8-minute-mile group doing around 8 miles, and a tempo group doing longer interval sessions. Thursday sessions usually run as two groups, one faster and one slower. Newcomers can come along for a few weeks before joining; emergency contact details are requested before a first run. Membership types range from full to associate (social) membership, with reduced fees for concessions; renewals fall due from 1 April and prices were frozen for 2026. Membership includes England Athletics affiliation, free entry to some club events with subsidised travel beyond South Yorkshire, a monthly newsletter, partner discounts and social events. Contact is via the email and message form on the website; the club is also on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. England Athletics affiliated club.
