Hook Runners

Hook Runners is an England Athletics affiliated running club based in Hook, Hampshire, founded in October 2016 and with over 200 members. It caters for all abilities, from complete beginners to marathon runners, with coached training sessions, social and trail runs, a monthly handicap race and cross country places. Typical sessions include chatty social runs, coach-led training and longer weekend runs with groups at different paces and distances.

Weekly sessions are coach-led training (Tuesday morning, Wednesday and Thursday evenings), a Monday evening recovery/social run of about 5km, unofficial 6am "dawn patrol" runs on Monday and Friday, and a Sunday morning run of around 10 miles on trails with a choice of pace and distance groups plus cut-offs; members also attend parkrun at Edenbrook and Basingstoke. No booking is required and visitors may attend up to three training or group run sessions before joining; new attendees are asked to tell the session leader in advance by email or via the club Facebook page. Membership costs £35 per year and includes all sessions, England Athletics membership and members-only website resources. The club runs a 10-week Couch to 5K course, the Absolute Beginners Club (ABC), for adults aged 18 and over, with coached sessions at 19:00 on Monday and Wednesday plus weekend homework, costing £35 including a year's club and England Athletics membership; enquiries to abc@hookrunners.com.
