Great Yarmouth & District AC — a run club in Great Yarmouth. England Athletics affiliated club. Activities: cross country, road running, track field.
Training takes place on Thursday evenings all year at the Wellesley Road Recreation Ground, with members meeting from 18:45 for a 19:00 start, plus a second weekly session whose day and venue change with the season: Monday at Great Yarmouth High School, Salisbury Road in January–March and October–December; Monday at the Wellesley track in April and September; and Tuesday at the Wellesley track from May to August. All sessions start at 19:00. The first session is free; after that track and field athletes pay £4.00 per session as a non-member and £2.50 as a member, while road runners pay £1.00 as a non-member and 50p as a member. Visitors may attend up to three further sessions before deciding whether to join. Newcomers can turn up on a training evening and ask for head of coaching Alan Jones, or any other member of the team. The club also organises the Humpty Dumpty 10K and Freethorpe Ten road races. A contact form is available on the website. England Athletics affiliated club.
