Run club in Dunstable
Dunstable Road Runners (DRR) is a local running club for adults of all abilities, based at Creasey Park Community Football Centre in Dunstable. Members take part in club training runs, speed sessions, cross country races and road races, with a social element alongside the running. The main midweek club night is Wednesday, where leaders organise runners into pace groups.
Wednesday club nights start at 18:15 at the Creasey Park HQ and begin with announcements before leaders split members into running groups ranging from roughly 8 to 12 minutes per mile; members join the group that suits them on the day, and runners are expected to be able to run for an hour. Speed and sprint sessions run every other Monday at venues that vary through the year, led by qualified leaders, and include a warm-up, sprint intervals over distances such as 100m and 200m with recoveries, and a cool-down. A 10-week beginners course starts on the first Wednesday after the London Marathon (next course from 1 April 2026), meeting at Creasey Park at 18:15 for an 18:30 start, using walk/run intervals building towards a continuous 5k; a £5 deposit is required and refunded on taking out full membership or can be put towards a club top. Beginners sessions also run on Monday evenings at Houghton Hall Park from 18:15. Session details are published on Spond, and sign-up for the beginners course is via an online form. The club has six England Athletics qualified Leaders in Running Fitness and one qualified Coach, and provides visual guides on request. Participants must be 16 or over.
